The MPEG-4 Recorder is like an easy-to-use, free-standing VCR that records onto digital memory cards instead of VHS tapes so that the video is playable directly on the PSP™ , other handheld devices or ready for easy transfer to the new Video iPod™. Instead of buying proprietary discs or downloading TV shows for a fee, you can now create open digital video files from all the content you already own. You can watch content whenever and wherever you want on your Sony PSP™, Video iPod™ or PDA. For Sony PSP™ users: Just plug the Recorder-2 into the video-out connection of any video source (TV, VCR, DVD player, camcorder, etc) and hit ‘Record’ on the supplied remote. When recording has finished, pop out the memory card (purchased separately), pop it into your PSP™, and hit ‘Play’. Use the timed recording feature so you can record your favourite shows while you're sleeping or working. It’s just as easy to record from DVDs or to digitise your home movies. Best of all, Neuros stands for openness and uses open standards to make sure your content plays everywhere without hassle. The MPEG-4 files produced by the Recorder-2 can be played back directly on virtually any portable device accepting memory stick or CF memory cards. You can also use the Recorder-2 to view recorded video on your TV by just plugging in to the Video-In connections on the TV and pressing ‘Play’. With your PSP™'s USB connection or an inexpensive USB adaptor/Card reader (not included), you can easily drag and drop content from the memory card onto your computer to play it on your laptop or home PC. The lightweight device fits in the palm of your hand, so you can easily take it on the road with you as your portable digital VCR. For Video iPod™ users: Don't spend hours tying up your computer trying to capture and then compress video into fussy formats. Just record your show to a memory card, insert the card into your computer's card reader and then load the video into your iTunes's iPod playlist. You don't have to convert, transcode, compress or anything. The only thing left for you to do is to watch. Eject your iPod, plug in your headphones and find a comfortable place. You’ll find your new video in the iPod’s Videos > Movies section. It will be listed alphabetically among your other video selections. Select it, play and kick back. Cool, huh?
